Walking a dog most days could cut down your risk of having a recurrence of breast cancer, according to research presented at the St Gallen conference on Primary Therapy of Early Breast Cancer in Switzerland — where delegates also heard that although no proven association exists between the food we eat and breast cancer risk, obese patients have more breast cancer and those who exercise regularly have lower risks according to Rowan Chlebowski, Head of Medical Oncology at UCLA Harbor Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He explained to Peter Goodwin that weight loss and taking exercise should be encouraged as effective components of management of breast cancer.
